Heya, I'm TaraBorn and raised in Barbados, I moved to the UK in 2013 to pursue my PhD in Marketing. Funnily enough, I now live on Hayling Island, UK, so it feels like I moved from one island to another with a long stopover in Scotland (my second home).
Leaving Barbados was a huge step in my journey of self-discovery, learning to love myself and accepting that there are actually some really good things about me. I love learning, walking in nature, my growing and ever evolving relationship with my family and the friends that have always been there no matter how low I fall. |
I have always revelled in music and enjoyed singing. Both of these activities are important to my general happiness. Singing is often my balance or my escape when I feel overwhelmed or just when I can’t figure out how to express everything I am feeling inside. When I perform, singing and music help me to connect with others, making them smile, really feel or just relax.
Over the years I have come to realise that I am energised and excited when someone I have assisted in any way achieves what they have aspired to. It is therefore not surprising that I fell in love with teaching at University level in 2009 and started pursuing a path to continue helping students through academia. On my academic journey I discovered that I could also help my family, friends and colleagues with their personal and professional development. I recognised that I could lead and that I added value to others in ways that they appreciated. |
Along this journey I uncovered loads of other things about myself. I learned that I value honesty, love, friendship, capability and long for a beautiful, fair world. I want to make a difference; I want to help others and I want to see others succeed.
As a coach, mentor and educator, I bring several aspects of me together to achieve my goal of helping others. I bring my love for teaching; singing and performing; my knowledge and skills in marketing; and my real respect, and understanding of creative individuals together to help creative entrepreneurs achieve their business and development goals.
To help individuals, I bring my passion for people; love for seeing others succeed; my coaching skills; experience helping others with personal and professional development; my experiences as a black woman raised in the Caribbean and honed in the UK; along with my big heart and capacity for care to ensure that I can help others realise their aspirations |
