In March’s blog, I focused on the challenge of negative thoughts and provided three tips for women and people of colour to change their inner critic into an inner cheerleader.

Reflection is one of the most powerful tools for growth, yet it's easy to overlook when there is so much to do. We often rush from one goal to the next without pausing to learn from our experiences. But taking time to reflect can help us make better decisions and move forward with clarity.
This month on Instagram and LinkedIn, I've been talking about self-reflection—September often feels like a time for new beginnings. I’ve shared tips on reflecting for 30 minutes each week and offered questions to guide your reflection. Now, let's talk about turning those reflections into action. Have you ever wondered what sets high achievers apart? It often comes down to their mindset. In this blog, I will dive into the concept of a growth mindset, explore why it's important to personal development, and share practical tips to help you start cultivating this mindset. Whether you're just beginning your journey or looking to enhance your approach, this guide is here to support you every step of the way.
For those of you who follow me on Facebook & Instagram, these tips may look vaguely familiar 😊 but this post puts everything in context to help you on your journey. As a personal development coach, I help women and people of colour take those risky steps towards growth, happiness and success. In this blog, I want to share two ways that coaching benefits those individuals who work with me.
Did you grow up thinking that confidence was something you were born with, like I did? You either had it or you didn’t. I certainly didn’t.
It took some exploration and experience to learn that confidence isn’t innate, but rather something you can develop, and it can be strengthened through intentional strategies. Unfortunately, that also means that confidence, can be knocked or chipped away at by situations, or criticism. I want to provide a few strategies to help you build confidence in minority environments. With social media and lists such as 30 under 30, it has become even more easy to fall into the trap of comparing ourselves to others and finding ourselves wanting or lesser than what we see. It was particularly important to me to provide some tips on how to manage comparing yourself to others, not only because it is something I continue to struggle with but I have also worked with clients for whom these comparisons are crippling.
Over the last few weeks, I have been conducting workshops that focus on self-reflection and planning to facilitate personal development for small groups. These workshops are important to me and useful for participants for several reasons, so I wanted to discuss these two activities: self-reflection and planning and explain why they are important to me as a personal development coach and you on your personal development journey.
Mastering the art of managing/overcoming negative thoughts is crucial for everyone, but it holds unique significance for people of colour who are seeking success as entrepreneurs or leaders in their chosen field. The journey towards success is often paved with societal biases, systemic obstacles and internalised doubts. I know that for my own journey my internalised doubts, and the constant need to keep proving myself were often detrimental to my mental health and feelings of self-worth. Changing your inner critic into your inner cheerleader (changing your mindset) is a powerful tool to overcome the barriers before you. With this blog, I want to share three tips to help you change the negative thoughts and continue being a success.
Many of you have established your goals for the year, especially if you attended y Reflections, Priorities & Goals workshop. Now comes the hard part, staying on track and continually working on achieving those goals even when something (and there usually is something) gets in your way. With this blog I want to share a few tips on how to stay motivated as you work towards those goals.
